§ 15-5. Failure to obtain permission to enter buildings when required.

  • (a)

    Where signs at the entrances to any lands, premises, public buildings, including school buildings, direct persons to any office or any designated place to obtain permission to enter and remain in the building, any person entering the building shall proceed immediately to the office or place indicated on such sign and obtain written permission to enter and remain in the building; failure to do so shall constitute a violation of this section.

    (b)

    Requirements of subsection (a) shall not apply in the case of students who are presently enrolled and attending any school or to parents or guardians of such students, teachers or other employees, and others having lawful authority to enter. Students who are presently enrolled and attending shall not include students who have been expelled or suspended from public, private or parochial school.

    (c)

    Any person who is required to obtain written permission in order to enter and remain in any school building, as required by subsection (a) shall promptly display the evidence of his written permission when requested to do so by any official of the school, and refusal to do so shall constitute a violation of this section.
