§ 22-98. Local limits.

Latest version.
  • The following pollutant limits are established to protect against pass through and interference. No person shall discharge wastewater containing in excess of the following instantaneous maximum allowable discharge limits:

    0.07 mg/l arsenic

    0.17 mg/l cadmium

    1.71 mg/l chromium

    0.48 mg/l copper

    0.32 mg/l cyanide

    0.43 mg/l lead

    <0.0002 mg/l mercury

    1.11 mg/l nickel

    0.18 mg/l silver

    1.48 mg/l zinc

150 mg/l fats, oil and grease

    20 mg/l phosphate as P

    2.13 mg/l TTO

PH within the range of 6.5 to 9.0 as stated in section 22-87(b)(2) above.

The discharge of mercury above the quantification level shall represent an exceedence of the local limit. Mercury sampling procedures, preservation and handling, and analytical protocol for compliance monitoring shall be in accordance with U.S. EPA method 245.1. The quantification level shall be 0.2 ug/l, unless higher levels are appropriate due to sample matrix interference.

The above limits apply at the point where the wastewater is discharged to the POTW. All concentrations for metallic substances are for "total" metal unless indicated otherwise. The superintendent may impose mass limitations in addition to, or in place of, the concentration-based limitations above.
