§ 14-51. Excessive noise.

  • No person shall drive a motor vehicle upon the public highways of the city in such a manner as to create noise which is excessive or greater than is necessary to the ordinary and usual operation of the vehicle. All excessive noise arising from the operation of a motor vehicle whether it be an automobile, motorcycle or power driven scooter shall be a violation whether it shall arise from the inadequate muffling of engine noise, excessive sounding of the horn, excessive acceleration of the engine, or any other adjustment, operation or attachment which shall cause the motor vehicle to make more noise than is ordinary and usual to the operation of the vehicle.
